‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor; He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are oppressed. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.’ Luke 4: 18 – 19
We speak to this nation and we declare the power of God’s goodness and God’s love over our land, that as Christmas draws near, the life which flows from His throne, the blessing, kindness and promise which come from Him will rest upon His people in great measure, that healing and transformation will come to our land.
We declare God’s people will release peace from the Prince of Peace, mercy from a glorious Saviour and hope from the Lord of all Hope to overwhelm all weariness, hopelessness, death and despair and we speak blessing on every initiative to feed the poor and to reach out to the broken & hurting. During this Christmas season we pray God’s people will reach out in bold and creative ways to their families and communities, sharing the Good News with love and compassion. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus and worship the King of Kings, we declare the revelation of His love will sweep across this land.
Even as we come into agreement with Psalm 147: 3, “He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds,’ we declare the revelation of the power of the love of Jesus to this nation, that through His goodness and His kindness the wounded will be healed.
We declare that God is Lord of both the Heavens and the Earth, He is righteous, just and merciful, nothing is impossible to Him, He is the Sovereign Living God, all life comes from Him; the Name of Jesus is Higher than any other Name, yet He came as a man, spoke Good News, healed the broken-hearted and set the captives free.
So, we say to this nation “Behold Your God.”
